Came here in a weekday night. Place was unusually empty for a Thursday night, but service and food was delicious.
They have a large selection of draft beer, which went well with our wings appetizers. The old bay seasoning is the best, the Thai was a sweet and spicy where it was more on the sweet side.
I ordered the beef brisket and changed out the potatoes for Mac and cheese and collards. I ordered the beef marbled and it had a good mix of flavor. The brisket was borderline jerky when it was pan seared but it still tasted good. The Mac and cheese was my least favorite as the noodle was overcooked and it was mixed with sprinkled cheese. The collards were delicious - great balance with vinegar. My plate did not initially come out with the Mac and cheese substitute but the service staff quickly fixed i
My husband ordered the pork chops- as always these are moist and delicious. Get these- you won't regret it. The breading was seasoned well and not over fried.
We are so tempted to get the bread pudding dessert but we couldn't make it happen. -

The drink had the flavor of purple koolAid. Had to order something else. The fried green tomatoes were over cooked and had cheese on them.
For dinner the salmon was dry and over cooked the mixed veggies were seasoned well. The broccoli was mushy and or orders were mixed.
The mashed potatoes were cold and flavorless. I was really disappointed in the quality of the food.
It would have been no stars if the waitress was not so attentive. -

I hosted a 40th birthday party for my partner at Rodger Browns Sports Bar in Portsmouth, VA on 7/20/19. I prepaid for the room a month in advance. The banquet hall which I rented was split into two rooms with a divider wall. When I originally arrived to set the room it extremely hot. While setting up the room for the event my helpers and myself were sweating. I requested to speak with the manager Johnny. He stated that there was another event next door, once they were done he would open the divider to allow air to flow through the room. Well, the other event lasted just as long as mine so he never opened the divider. During my event several guests complained about the heat in the room and many left. A number of my guests had visible sweat stains on their clothes, they used various items such as napkins as personal fans. We complained again and the same manager went and got a fan from the kitchen and put it in one corner of the room behind a wall. That did not help. My event was scheduled to end at 11pm. However, but due to the number of guests that left due to discomfort from the heat we started cleaning up around 9:30-10pm. Before leaving I asked to speak to a manager. Damien, a different manager came he was visibly sweating profusely. I expressed my concern regarding the heat and asked what could be done about it. He said he was not aware that there was a problem. I informed him of my conversation with the previous manager "Johnny". He instructed me to wait and he will look into it. He came back and advised me that there was nothing they can do and the other manager Johnny proceeded to tell me that he purchased a $30.00 fan. I told him that the room did not cool down and that the fan was clearly used and filthy looking. Johnny stated, "when you have dancing and sterno cans it causes the room to be hot and that the other side of the hall had all the air". I was extremely disappointed and appalled with their lack of acknowledgement with this issue. They did not accommodate us knowing that we have already paid $1,400.00 in advance. One of my guests also came out and showed him how she had sweat stains all over her dress just from sitting at the table. I hugged another one of my male guests and he also had visible stains all over his shirt. Neither of the managers were willing to compensate me at all. I was really disappointed that they would not work with me. I lost guests for my partners 40th birthday party due to the temperature in the room. If they knew that there were issues with the A/C system they should have explained that to me before I paid. I could have made a decision on having my event at a different venue with air conditioning. Several of the staff members that were walking by also complained about the heat coming from out of our room as well. I will not return to Rodger Browns Sports Bar in Portsmouth, VA or any other location if this is the way this franchise does business. These managers did not take into account my guests or how special this night was. All they gave me were excuses and no resolutions.
I wish I remembered the name of the waiter and bartender because they were amazing. They took very good care of our food and drink needs. They were professional, friendly and paid very close attention to my guests.
I am giving them 2 stars because the waiter and bar tender took great care of myself and my guests. They were phenomenal and I appreciate everything they did. The food and drinks were good as well. -

Our monthly Cork Club of 40 people dined here on a Monday evening. We had a private room in the back. When we dine at a restaurant, we preselect from one of 4-5 entrée offerings. The restaurants occasionally provide a cheese and fruit bar or other hors d'oerve, a salad, and the entrée. Some also include a dessert. At some locations, the dessert is extra. At this meal, my wife had a veggie pasta which she enjoyed. I had crab cakes with Cole slaw. They were ok. The dessert of vanilla ice cream and a sweet apple topping was delicious. Others had the chicken, sirloin steak or salmon offering. As usual, we had a great evening of dining, wine tasting and friendship.

Came here for an event last weekend and I must say this place is huge! There is a little lobby area then the entrance to the main room, which has a lot of floor space next to the bar area. There's also step up seating areas and I assume more room in the back, but I was not able to see for myself.
For this event we had a smaller VIP section which was right up against the center stage they have. It was literally just a bench seat with snakeskin fabric and a red rope. Not really VIP section, but okay. There were other sections on the stage as well. For the night, there were many waiters but everyone seemed to just be playing the part, walking back and forth but not really checking in on people. Had to have 3-4 people flagging one waiter down. I was going to order mozzarella sticks but it was $11 for just 6 so I opted out for fries which were $4. Had to request for them to be crispy and had to wait several minutes for fries then several minutes for just napkins. My friend ended up getting mozzarella sticks and they were just okay. They were long extendo sticks compared to the size you typically see, Lol.
3.5 rounded down to 3 stars. Though the menu is extensive, the pricing seems a little eh. Also, my friend ordered a mojito and it wasn't the best. Made me not want to grab a drink. Wouldn't go out of my way to visit this location again, day or night. I would suggest this place for maybe an after work thing or something with coworkers.
